Groats of amaranth is one of the most nutritious crops. Amaranth seeds contain a large amount of protein, unsaturated fatty acids, useful micronutrients. Amaranth porridge is especially useful to people with wheat allergy, observing a gluten-free diet. You can season the porridge from the amaranth with vegetable or butter.
Ingredients for 4 servings:
2 cups of water, 1 cup of amaranth groats, salt – to taste.
Water bring to a boil, add salt. Pour the groats of amaranth, close the lid and cook over low heat for 18-20 minutes – until the water is completely absorbed by the grains. Porridge from amaranth should turn out friable. At the end of cooking, mix it with a fork. It is convenient to cook porridge from amaranth in a cooking machine (for example, in the “buckwheat” mode).
